Composer Marc Evanstein’s composition based on pollen data from a sediment core in Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. Through this translation from data to music, listeners are offered a window into the dynamic and interconnected quality of the natural world, and the way in which this balance has been impacted by human activities over the last 120 years. Diane Grubbe has appeared as a soloist with the Siena Music Festival in Italy, the San Francisco Concerto Orchestra, L’Orchestre de Notre Dame in San Francisco and the Calabasas Chamber Orchestra in Southern California, with whom she recorded the Vivaldi Piccolo Concerto for their CD The Baroque Concerto.
